Creating a Tier A compliant warehouse
India's warehousing and logistics environment has evolved over the years and one of the most common ways to achieve international standards is to build and operate “A-level” warehouses. Vineet Vaibhav, chief development officer, Welspun One, explains the "what, why and how" of Tier A warehouses. Although "Grade-A" is a term, there is no standard definition that can clearly divide warehouses into different categories such as A, B or C. In fact, A Grade A warehouse is a space that facilitates efficient installation work for any business. Class A warehouses lead to the lowest total cost (TOC) for development. Many factors are responsible for shifting demand from B-level and C-level warehouses to A-level spaces. But more than anything else, it is the scale and complexity that makes it necessary for a Tier A warehouse.
